Recently I was discussing with my sister, who just came back from a vacation from one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Dubai.
We discussed what it really takes to live the kind of life most people see to be a good life.
We also discussed what it takes for a country like Nigeria to improve the standard of living of its citizens. We analysed how improved electricity can go a long way in making the lives of many Nigerians better even with the little amount most people earn.
By our calculations, if there was regular electricity in Nigeria most families, let’s say a family of 4, that can afford a refrigerator can use N10,000 to cook different kinds of dishes which can serve them for about 2 to 3 weeks when properly stored and refrigerated.
By this, the family gets to eat fresh food, economise cost of living and save the household of many stress, like the stress of preparing food on a regular or daily basis.
This is just one of the many ways we calculated, how a simple adjustment in our lives and the country’s infrastructure can go a long way in making our lives better.
Judging by this, It occurred to me that most people don’t really understand what it takes to live a good life.
Most people still think you need to have all the money before you can start looking good if that’s your wish.
Or you need all the luxury before you can start looking fit or healthy.
Or you need more money before you can start getting education or skills
Here is one of my greatest discoveries about life
Life is best lived by design, plan, action and faith.
Sometimes most of the people we see or observe that seem to be living the good life, or seem to be smarter, or seem to be fit and healthy don’t really have all the money we think they have. Sometimes they are people who have designed and planned their lives and are taking actions towards their goals with faith.
It’s easy for most people to observe and conclude especially with what they see on social media. But life on social media is not really the life, the real life is the one outside social media and that is where we ought to look out and find the truth.
Here are 4 Ways To Live A Meaningful Life
You need to design your life because you are the architect of your own destiny; you need to draw a clear picture of how you want your life to be.
You can’t trust this responsibility to someone else; they might draw you the wrong picture.
Take time to design your life; among many things going on around you take time to really decide what you really want.
Draw it so clear because you don’t want to lose a structure that has the power to uphold your life in later years.
When you design your life you will see that there are many things you waste your attention on daily bases that are not really important to you.
Designing your life helps you focus on the right direction and by focusing on the right direction you can make the right plan for your life.
Planning helps you organise your life.
No business can succeed without planning, and that is applicable to human lives. We can’t do much if we don’t plan.
Planning helps to reveal the next step to take.
It points to us the right combination of actions to take.
Planning can help you select the right kind of your old clothes to put on to make you look prosperous.
It can help you find the right moves that can keep your body fit and your muscles strong.
It can help you see more of the skills and knowledge you need to acquire or improve in other to develop “yourself” because your life is created my “yourself” and how good “yourself” is determines how good your life will be.
One of the greatest discoveries in the scientific world today is that everything around us is in a constant vibration (movement)
That is how life is designed to operate. Movement.
Action is movement. Action is life. Action is expansion. Action is growth.
Lack of action is what is holding most people back from becoming more than they currently are.
“Be it done to you according to your faith” – Jesus
You need to always surrender to God, the universe, or whatever name you identify him with. Also, sometimes in your life you just have to surrender to circumstances you know are outside your control.
Most times surrendering is the easiest way to save yourself some stress and worries.
You can’t control how your friends will act or react in certain circumstances.
You can’t tell the sun or the moon when or when not to shine.
You can’t tell what tomorrow will bring, but in all these situations you can always believe that everything will work out fine…
I call this “maintaining a positive mindset towards life”
There you have it “4 actionable ways” to start creating for yourself the kind of life you wish.
What are you going to do now? Start with “designing” and please share this article with your friends, they might find it useful.
